antique extravaganza weekend

well ... I suppose I have to say I'm embarrassed  to call myself a blogger,
since it's been MONTHS since I've blogged...
(but tax season and all ya know....hey  I'm always buried !)
So now back to junking season !
this past weekend, my bestie ( Lucy of bel monili) and I
scheduled a show in Philadelphia
(www.theclovermarket.com)
which luckily for us cooinsided with  the
ANTIQUES EXTRAVAGANZA
in Adamstown, PA
which as you may know is touted as the
I'm going to have to say ........... well worth the trip !
***
we started out at Shupp's Grove
which was a wonder conglomeration of vendors
antques, glass, junk, vintage .... everything under the sun
(and the sun actually came out which made it all the better)
one of the first goodies we spotted was this little gem which made us immediately
regret that our truck was full with our show set up !
wowser, wow wow .... it was fabulous !!
(we cried a little)

I love the kitchiness of this calendar,
but the juxtaposition of it on this wood shelf that so obviously has been there for EVER
just made it even better !

did someone say 'Pyrex' ?
let me tell you ...if you are ever, ever looking for
Pyrex, this town and this market is your Heaven ....
I have never seen so much ever in one place !!
serious hoards at every turn ..

every color, every style, every piece you could ever want

our alter egos ~ junk style
where comfort rules all !

an unusally LONG box, was told it was a telescope crate !

then ............ this town being just full of goodies,
we picked up a map and were on our way

i was too busy picking up junk to keep track of which store was which in my pics
so here's a random smattering of goods that we saw

salt and pepper ..hahah irons and an ironing board .........seriously !!

this was something I'd never seen before,
a child's treadle machine

then a crazy flea in the muddy parking lot down the street !!
my kind of place !!

picked up this lovely vintage First Communion picture.. i love it !~

check out this old, old, old well used broom !

big ~ little books... who remembers them ?

this was hard to get a good pic or, but it's an ice cream cone holder ..how cool !

drawers ~ um ...yeah... drawers !

this booth was full of new old stock children's shoes...
this pair is exactly what I was made to wear
as a child, except mine were red !

then we came across this whole retro section ... I have never seen so much
'mid century modern' in one place ................ rows and rows ....

be still my heart... a pink wall phone and a pink cosco step stool
if only my wallet would have allowed it

for real .... anything you could possible be looking for
you could find traeling down this strip !
7 miles of fun fun fun

silver plate everwhere !

booths and booths of glasswear

when I tell you this was Pyrex heaven , you must see that I am not kidding
this is just a tiny ...really tiny amount of what we saw

now ... this .... this what I'm going to show you .........
well, words cannot describe this ....

sigh ...
it was so beautiful !

***
so there you go ......... our
Extravaganza  Day ..
(yes ... day .... 14 hours, 2 markets, 18 antique malls)
~ can you say tired ~
but oh what fun !! we will definately be doing this again ..
here is a sampling of our haul

(not tp ..hahah..it's pink gingham ribbon)

i ended up with a total of 7 ... yep 7 typewriters for jewelry !!

i bet you're tired just following along ...
you cant even imagine how wiped out we were

it's a LOT to do in a day
we started out at 7 am and closed the last store on the list at 9pm
(then drove to Philly so we could get up at 7 for the show)
so yep ... exhausted, but owners of a magnificant stash !
see ya next time....
